Avoid wearing anything that contains metal when traveling through the security checkpoint. Things such as clothing, jewelry, or other accessories that contain metal should be avoided.
A valid passport is recognized internationally as a travel document. Some countries requires a visa to access. If you need a visa, apply two months ahead of time to avoid paying high-fees for emergency situation.
If you travel with a child who has your custody, make sure you have a passport for that child as well. If the child is not yours, make sure you bring along a signed, notarized document from the parent(s).
Be familiarized yourself with the destination. Find out its culture, food, laws, and mostly avoid known dangers.
Take precautions to avoid being a target of crime. If you become a victim of crime, contact consular officer to solve the problem.
Avoid to travel to the country that your own country has no diplomatic relation with.
Be familiarized yourself with conditions at destination that might affect your health. Make sure you check your overseas medical insurance coverage. It may not cover you overseas. If you plan to stay long, you may consider to buy a short-term policy to cover you there.
Consult your doctor before you bring medications or fill prescriptions. Carry a letter from your physician if necessary. Always put your medications in your carry-on bag for easy access.
For people who wear glasses/contact lens, it is advice to take an extra pair of glasses or take disposable contact lens with you. Always put your glasses or contact lens in your easy-access bag.
Make sure you have a photocopy of your passport, credit cards, or any other import items with you while traveling. Keep one set of these copies at home.
If you travel with your pet, find out ahead of time to see whether you are allowed to take your pet with you. If you are allowed, get some tips of traveling with your pet from your vet.
Disabled travelers have to find out the standards of accessibility in certain countries. When making reservations, inform the travel agent about your disability and may request a wheelchair be brought to the gate upon your arrival.
For people who adopt a child oversea, you need to obtain an immigration visa for that child in the country of adoption.
Don't carry too much cash with you for your trip, but make sure you have enough money in case of an emergency. Avoid putting all your money in one place.
Find out what items you can or cannot bring back with you upon returning to your home country.
In short, one must plan well for traveling overseas. Knowing the above 15 traveling tips before traveling overseas may have saved you tons of headaches. Your traveling journey may bring you more memorial joys than unpleasing experience.
For the Average Traveler Who Needs Money Saving Travel Tips
Many families are finding it hard to come up with the money to take a vacation, with the rise in prices for almost everything in the last few years. But taking a vacation does not have to be expensive. There are many money saving travel tips to be found to save the average traveler a lot of money.
Regardless of age or income, everyone can benefit from money saving travel tips. Whether aiming for a four-star, week-long vacation or a weekend getaway, there are travel tips that can save you money to be found with a little searching. These tips can save you money on everything from hotels, to airfare, to food.
Money Saving Travel Tips For Lodging
One of the best money saving travel tips for saving money on lodging is compare prices. Prices for hotel rooms can vary greatly, even if the hotels are located close to each other. If booking a hotel room online, check several different sites for the same hotel rooms. Chances are the price on one site will be lower than the prices on other sites. Another way to save is with a Travel Membership.
Another tip for saving on lodging is" try to be flexible". For example, in Hilton Head, a hotel room with an ocean view is more than twice as much per night than the hotel room with all of the same amenities but without an ocean view directly across the street. If you are intending to spend your vacation days on the beach, an ocean view may not be necessary and that extra money could be spent towards something else. With a little research, money saving travel tips can save you quite a bit of money over the length of your vacation.
Money Saving Travel Tips For Dining
One of the biggest expenses of any vacation is food. With some money saving travel tips and a little prior planning, you can minimize the amount that you will pay for dining. The first tip is to research restaurants in the area before leaving on vacation. This way you know what types of restaurants are in the area and the price ranges for these restaurants. Many people on vacation walk into a restaurant that they have never been in before and pay a much higher price than they intended to spend for the meal. By choosing which restaurants you will eat in before you leave for the trip, you will eliminate the possibility of sticker shock when you see the menu.
One of the most overlooked money saving travel tips for dining is to request from the city you are planning to travel to, a guide to the local restaurants. Many of these guides include money saving coupons to restaurants in the area to entice you into eating there. Whether the coupon is for 10% off or 50% off, they are still saving you money you would have had to spend anyway. By doing a little research and learning some money saving travel tips, a vacation does not have to be as expensive as expected.
You can also get lodging that comes with a fully equipped kitchen, so you can cook some of your own meals. Most places you vacation have a local grocery store or deli near by. This is a great way to save. On a romantic get away you can do breakfast in bed and be spoiled by your love. If you have the family with you, having a kitchen will save you a ton of money on food. Just make sure Mom gets a break from the kitchen. Remember, this is her vacation too.

So, it's a good idea to have a carry on that has some clothes and a few essential toiletries on hand.
Tip #2 - Get a Map of the Ship - Cruise ships are huge. You don't want to get lost and a map can definitely be a huge help to you. Make sure you have the map and take a bit to look it over so that you'll be able to more easily get around the ship.
Tip #3 - Walk to Where You're Going - When you are going to dinner or you are going to a show on board, you may want to walk wherever you are going. You'll find that the elevators are probably going to be full and often many people are trying to wait for an elevator and they may not be in a great mood. So, just go ahead and take a stroll and get a bit of exercise walking to wherever you need to go.
Tip #4 - Keep the Noise Down at Night - If you are out late at night, make sure that you keep the noise down. You don't want to go around slamming the doors of your cabin, since it can wake many people around you up. So, have some courtesy and shut your doors as quietly as possible to avoid encounters with grumpy cruise mates.
Tip #5 - Avoid Wearing Expensive Jewelry - When you are on a cruise ship, don't go around wearing your most expensive jewelry so everyone can see it. Of course there will be some formal dinners where you will want to look great, but leave the most expensive jewelry at home. You may become the victim or a thief if you go around flaunting expensive jewelry.
Tip #6 - Tip Generously, is the last one of the cruise travel tips listed here; When you are out there on a cruise, make sure that you tip generously whenever possible. Most of the people on the ship make very little money except for by your tips. So, make sure that you are kind enough and generous to give a great tip.

The Uffizi Gallery Tip
The Uffizi Gallery contains some of the most important and greatest art collections in the world. It is also the world's oldest museum. Most tour guide books and online travel sites will urge you to ensure that a visit to the Uffiizi is included as part of any Florence vacation, no matter how short. What most of them fail to tell you, or at least stress with sufficient emphasis, is that without a pre-booked ticket, you may not be able to visit the Uffizi at all!
My wife and I had a three day holiday in Florence at the beginning of April 2005. We had planned on visiting the Uffizi Gallery and as soon as we checked in at our hotel we telephoned the gallery to purchase tickets. After several attempts without our calls being answered, we asked the hotel reception to do the booking for us. They explained that it was nearly always difficult to get through on the booking line and that our three day stay might not provide sufficient notice to make a booking possible. Despite this, the hotel staff were most happy to keep trying whilst we enjoyed the other wonders of Florence.
We decided to check out the situation for ourselves the next day but discovered queues that hardly seemed to move, stretching for an enormous distance around the area of the Uffizi. Queuing all day was certainly not the way we wanted to spend our time in Florence, so we decided to leave things in the capable hands of the reception staff whilst we enjoyed the other attractions that we had come to see. The following evening, we were informed that after many fruitless attempts at getting through on the booking line, success had finally been achieved but only to receive information that all tickets were sold for the following day. We consequently missed out on seeing many of Florence's greatest art treasures and our top travel tip for anyone visiting Florence on a short stay vacation is to book tickets for the Uffizi Gallery online some time before their holiday.
The Inside Tip for the Duomo
Another of the wonders of Florence not to be missed is the Duomo. Actually, it is impossible to miss this magnificent building because it dominates the city and can be seen from virtually everywhere. Savour the views of it whilst enjoying a coffee at one of the cafes in the surrounding piazza. Walk around it, pausing every now and then to appreciate it from every aspect. View it from more distant, elevated, positions around the city. This was once the largest cathedral in the world and even now, nearly six hundred years after it was built, it is the fourth largest. Florence always insisted on everything being the biggest and the best but what really makes the Duomo unique is its dome or "Cupola". When Fillipo Brunelleschi undertook this masterpiece of renaissance architecture, no one believed that such a dome was possible. The secret had been lost for over a thousand years but Brunelleschi traveled to Rome to unravel it by examining the dome of the ancient Pantheon.
My tip for the Duomo is to ascend this incredible feat of engineering. You can do so by entering a stairway that leads up inside the dome, between its inner and outer shells. When you reach the top, you can step outside onto an external gallery that provides magnificent views of the city and the surrounding Tuscan countryside. This gallery was never finished however, so your views are restricted to northerly and westerly directions.
Palazzo Vecchio - David's Copy Tip
Perhaps the next most famous landmark of Florence is the Palazzo Vecchio. Once again, it is a building worth enjoying from every aspect on the outside before entering to explore its fascinating, art filled, interior.
My tip for the Palazzo Vecchio is to spare a few minutes looking at the pollution-streaked COPY of the world's most famous statue, realizing that although the original Michelangelo's David is safely inside the Accademia, the copy is standing just where the original once stood.
River Arno Cross Over Tip
This tip is to retreat from the busiest tourist attractions of the city centre and to cross the Arno river via the Ponte Vecchio. The crowds on this wonderful, historic bridge will probably be even more tightly packed than in the central Piazzas you have just left but within a hundred metres of the other side, they will have thinned out and you can explore the delights of the Boboli gardens and the Palazzo Pitti before walking up the meandering paths to the Piazzo Michelangelo which stands on a beautiful hill overlooking Florence and its surrounds.
A final Florence travel tip - Avoiding "Stendhal Sydrome"
Florence has so much beauty that every year, there are a few tourists who have to be treated at local hospitals for a condition known as "Stendhal Syndrome". Symptoms range from feeling faint to complete exhaustion. Stendhal was a French tourist whose nineteenth century tour of Florence overloaded his senses so much that he collapsed with these symptoms.
My final travel tip for a short vacation in Florence is not to try to pack too much in. Even if Florence's wealth of art treasures, beauty, and architectural achievements don't actually send you running for medical help, they can easily overwhelm a tourist who fails to heed this advice.
Smart Travel Tips When Flying
Taking a trip can be a nerve-wrecking experience, whether you're taking a last minute trip, or your trip is something that you've planned out weeks or even months in advance. This is because as you are anticipating the destination on the other end of your flight, you're constantly wondering what you'll need, what they'll already have for you, what you can't leave at home and what you can't leave there. This means you are usually running around in circles at the last minute making sure you've packed your tooth brush, contact solution, passport, extra batteries, and chewing gum for the flight, and anything else that is vital to you. Now add in the flight security restrictions you must take into consideration when you arrive at the airport and you're sure to lose your mind. But while it can be worrisome trying to get everything together, I can assure you, traveling doesn't have to be the end of the world if you do a little planning and follow these easy travel tips. Read on!
Plan While Packing
This is probably the most important part of your trip - not simply because you might leave something behind that you will desperately need later. But also because when you get to the airport you will have to follow certain procedures that will leave you rustling through your items and trying to make last minute arrangements with little time to spare.
One of the cardinal travel tips (rules) of this day and age is that flight security will not let you take liquids past the security checkpoint. This not only includes beverages, but toothpaste, liquid deodorant, lotion, lip gloss, aerosols, and much more. Of course, many people are used to packing these items in their carry-on bag and don't even consider the fact that they're not allowed. But that reality will be realized when you're passing your items through the x-ray machine only to have a security officer take your bag, rifle through it, and confiscate your precious Country Apple Bath and Body Works lotion you just got for Christmas - and they're not giving it back!
To avoid this, it helps to learn their travel tips, which include packing larger bottles of liquids into the bag you're checking. The airport does allow a small, clear zipper-top bag with liquids smaller than three ounces in size (no aerosols) to come with you on the plane, so you must remember to pack these small travel liquids in your zip lock bag then pack all other liquids into the bag(s) you intend to check.
Another packing essential that many people don't think about is shoes. At every flight security checkpoint, you are required to take off your shoes. If you have shoes or boots that are difficult to remove in a speedy fashion you may slow up the flow of traffic moving through the checking point; security and the other anxious passengers will become very impatient with you - and you'll probably be impatient with yourself. To avoid this issue, it is best to wear easy to remove sneakers, and if you need to change your shoes after the checkpoint, just pack the pair you intend to wear in your carry-on bag; it will make the process much easier.
When You Arrive at the Airport
One of the best travel tips I can offer is, depending on the time of the year that you're traveling, you will want to make sure to arrive at the airport at least two hours before flight departure. This is because it is customary for airlines to begin their boarding process 30-40 minutes prior to departure time. So you really only have about 1 ½ hours to do the rest before boarding the flight - and there is a lot to do.
Depending on how you reserved your ticket, you may have to print your ticket at the check-in station, which now consists mainly of kiosks that guarantee you do most of the work. While the kiosks can be convenient to use, they do require that you know what you're doing before you start punching letters and numbers. That's why one of the travel tips I remember for myself is to keep my ticket record locator (normally a 13-digit number), my confirmation number, and my driver's license (or other state-issued ID) handy. After using either the ticket record locater or confirmation number to find and print your ticket, you will then have to check your bag(s) at the counter and show you're ID'ING Once that part of the process is finished and they've relieved you of your clumsy luggage, you are ready to go through the security checkpoint (gasp!).
The Security Checkpoint
The security checkpoint is actually not as bad as you think it might be. As stated previously, it does move fast, but if you know what to do, it will also move just as smoothly as any other part of the process. So another one of my travel tips is to remember that when you arrive at the security checkpoint, you will first need to present your ID and boarding pass, both of which should now be handy from when you checked your bags.
Once you pass this point, you will have to place your carry-on items on a belt that moves through an x-ray machine, while you simultaneously walk through a metal detector. Before you place your items on the belt, you will have to remove your shoes and your zip-lock bag with liquids, as well as any electronic device larger than your hand and place them in containers to move on the belt. Once you successfully pass through the security checkpoint and gather your items, you're set! The only thing you have left to do now is board the plane!
It's always a good idea to accumulate travel tips from a variety of sources when vacationing to ensure that when the time comes to actually take your trip you don't have to panic about what you may or may not be missing. I've been a fan of looking for travel tips as they have helped me out tremendously, and now I hope that mine have been able to help you. Happy traveling and good luck!
Don't Miss These Holiday Travel Tips - Our Top 5 Holiday Travel Tips to Ensure a Wonderful Season!
It's that time of year and holiday travel tips are just what's needed so your holidays and travel plans are not complete nightmares.
I am a huge fan of the Chevy Chase and other comedy holiday movie classics that prove the point that holiday travel isn't always an enjoyable adventure.
Now that I have my own family and I'm sure many of you reading this can relate that travel during the holidays isn't the relaxing few days off that you imagined. It's more like a whirlwind of excitement, screaming, food, family, plenty of miles, and over before you know it.
You're almost excited to get back to the quiet days of work where you can actually sit for a moment and think. Well maybe not that bad right?
So, let's take a trip of our own and ensure you have a wonderful holiday season without so much chaos, stress, and headaches.
Discount Florida Vacations Holiday Travel Tips (this is from our own experiences)...
**Be sure that you don't overdo it. Now that we have a child everyone wants to see him during the holidays. With family that lives out of town that isn't always feasible to reach everyone within just a couple of days. We have finally decided to alternate years and/or spread out our holidays by seeing family and friends over the season and not within the few days most people celebrate their given holiday.
**Be giving, but be a little selfish. You work hard all year and this is a time for family, immediate family. We make it a priority to have our own celebration and worry about making ourselves relax, and enjoy the season first and foremost. There have been years when we've done nothing but stress and worry about everyone else. That has made for a lousy holiday travel season.
**Our holiday travel tips continue with being prepared. This is just good advice for traveling anytime of the year. The holidays get even crazier and busier with people rushing everywhere to make last minute meetings, parties, see family, shop, etc...
Have activities for the kids, snacks, drinks, your travel route planned out, and a back up plan. Make sure all your ducks are in a row and give yourself enough time to travel safely.
**Give yourself enough time to recoup. This is one of the most important holiday travel tips we can provide. Nobody enjoys going back to their normal, hectic routine without having some rest and relaxing while enjoying the holiday time with family and friends. It only comes once a year and each year we want to make it a time of warmth, love, and more before we venture into a new year.
**Our final of the holiday travel tips would have to be being safe. There are a lot of crazies that come out during the holidays and that may include your family. There are a lot of people trying to get too many places in such a short time. I remember one year my own father jumped on two young guys cars threatening them because they cut us off in a snow storm almost causing us to wreck. My brother and I were very young at the time and my father would've done anything to ensure our safety. Don't let the scam artists and lunatics take advantage of your good cheer and generosity during this time.
Also, for goodness sakes, no matter how in a hurry you are, how rude other people are, and how nuts things seem to be, take the time to enjoy it and please, please be nice to others no matter what. The best international travel tips is to carry original copy of some documents and keep one or two photocopies of the other in case of emergency. You should also leave a copy of your documents with some friends, which they can fax to you if you loose yours. Ask your travel agent or friends who have gone to those destinations about the necessary travel tips for documents.

Business Travel Tips
Business Travel Tips; Reduce Stress and Enjoy Yourself
Traveling for Business is Less Stressful When You Take Time to Prepare and Organize.
Here are a few tips for your business travel that will make that time away from home just a bit more enjoyable. Let's start with packing for business travel. Start with the purchase of a good carry one bag. Any seasoned business traveler will tell you carry on is the only way to travel. It will keep you out of baggage claim and you will never have to worry about lost luggage. Buy a couple of good quality pieces constructed of polyurethane-treated fabric that have nylon zippers. The polyurethane will keep the moisture out and the nylon zippers are far less likely to snag.Consider keeping a duplicate of as much as possible when it comes to those things that you use on a daily basis such as your toiletries. This way you won't have to worry about unpacking them when you return home. They can just stay in your business travel bags. You may also think about going to your local drugstore to purchase trial sizes of your toiletries. Try to pack your bag with space saving in mind. Cut down on the number of business suits for example by packing alternate shirts and ties that will go with the same suit.Women can change the look of a suit with different blouses, scarves, sweaters or jewelry. Pack socks and underwear inside your shoes. Not only does this save space but it will also help keep the shape of your shoes. Pack your belts around the edge of your suitcase. When considering the items to pack think of those things that are necessities and those items that may make your business travel just a little more comfortable.
Here is a business travel tip when choosing your mode of transportation. When choosing transportation for business travel the distance that you will be traveling should be considered. Although air travel is the first choice when it comes to long journeys for a shorter trip that is only a couple of hundred miles away a train or automobile may be the better choice. Take into account the time you would spend traveling to and from the airport. Also, don't forget to consider the amount of time taken at the airport to check in, board, disembark and then find transportation to your final destination etc.
If you do choose to fly consider alternative airports just outside your departure and destination city. Typically these airports may have fewer flights but also will have less chance for overbooking and delays.
Always try to stay in hotels that cater to business travel. Most of these hotels will have high- speed internet access and will offer access to business machines. For unbiased reviews from other business travelers just like you we recommend that you research
hotel reviews at TravelPost.com
One of the more important business travel tips is to check your cellular service prior to leaving for another city. Check with your cell phone service provider. You may find that they don't provide service where your business travel takes you and therefore you will need to find an alternate carrier for this trip. Can you imagine not finding out until you're there!
Hope that you will find these business travel tips helpful and may all of your business travel bring further success!
Safe Travel Tips For Young People
Traveling abroad, student travel, safety and road trip planning
It is no secret that when young people vacation with their friends, alcohol consumption is high and partying is the primary past-time. However, with the unfortunate tragedy of Natalee Holloway's death while on vacation in Aruba, it is important for young people to keep safe while traveling. Irresponsible drinking is not the only issue involved with unsafe travel; there are several safe travel tips that need to be kept in mind while vacationing to ensure your safety.
Whether you're traveling abroad to Paris, spending spring break on South Padre Island, Texas or taking a summer road trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, it is important to keep safe and aware of your surroundings at all times. By following just a few, small travel tips and keeping a few things in mind, you can ensure that your vacation goes smoothly and that you have a great time.
Basic safe travel tips:
Knowing your limits
Hangovers are not the only thing you need to worry about when partying; binge drinking can lead to black-outs, alcohol poisoning and even worse - death. Most importantly though, alcohol clouds your judgment severely and makes bad situations and decisions look alright. Try to monitor your alcohol consumption and the alcohol consumption of those traveling with you. This leads me to the second rule: the Buddy System.
Buddy System
Remember those afternoon buddy checks at the local swimming pool? The buddy system, it is tried and true and it works. Wherever you go with your friends whether it's the bar, a club, the beach or a party, keep tabs on each other. Try to stay together at all times. Realistically this doesn't always happen and people get separated. If you do get separated or you decide to go your own ways, which is not recommended, try to check in with each other at least every hour or so. Also, plan ahead a meeting place if you cannot locate each other. It is important to remain with your friends or close by them at all times. For guys, if you find yourself in a fight, you have your buddies there to help you out. For gals, if you're receiving unwanted sexual advances, your ladies are there to help you out of an unwanted situation.
Don't take candy from strangers
When young people vacation, they are out mingling, partying and meeting new people. You need be careful of strangers though and shouldn't completely trust anyone. Be careful of what they're offering you; there are a lot of scam artists out there. For women, if a man buys you a drink you need to be aware of the fact that he may try to drug you or if he buys you an excessive amount of drinks that he may be trying to get you drunk and take advantage of you. Not to sound like EVERYBODY is out to get you, but you need to be aware of the possibilities and be wary of trusting people you have just met. Most importantly though, never leave alone with someone you have just met and never give them the number to your hotel room.
Think of the consequences
To take risk of sounding like my mother, you really do need to think of the consequences of your actions. They need to be kept in mind, especially when traveling abroad.
Traveling abroad and student travel tipsKnow the rules, customs and laws
Each year more than 2,500 Americans are arrested abroad and more than one-third of those arrests are drug related and student travel related. Simply because it's legal to smoke marijuana in Amsterdam, doesn't mean that it is legal to take it with you to Germany. When you're traveling abroad it is vital to be completely aware of the rules, custom and laws that are associated with the countries you are visiting. Young people and students are commonly arrested for being intoxicated in public areas and for drunk driving; this is common for not only people traveling abroad, but also for student vacationing in the United States. If you do get in trouble while traveling abroad, contact the local US embassy.
Dress to unimpress
Theft is another common vacation mishap. Leave the bling at home, don't carry excessive amounts of cash and don't bring with you unneeded credit cards. Dressing nicely, wearing a Rolex and flashing your cash screams steal from me. In case items do get stolen, you should make two copies of your passport identification page before leaving. This will help expediate the time spent getting your passport replaced if it is lost or stolen. Leave one copy in your hotel room and the other back home with someone easily contacted.
Road Trip Tips:Plan ahead
Before embarking on your trip, you need to plan ahead, and come up with a travel itinerary that should include what roads you will be traveling on and where you will be staying. The travel itinerary should be given to someone who is not going with on the trip so they can know where you are at all times in case something does go wrong.
Check it out
It only seems logical to have your car tuned up before heading out on the road; however, this is a step that is often overlooked. Before leaving on a road trip take your car to a local car shop and have them check it over, change the oil and have the tire pressure checked. It is also recommended that you have access to AAA or some other emergency roadside service in case something does go wrong.
And last don't pick up hitchhikers. It is not 1960 anymore and it is not safe.Vacations are supposed to be fun and by keeping these few safe travel tips in mind, you can make sure that they remain that way.

Travel Tips And Advice - Travelling With A Disability
A disability should not stop you from travelling, but a chance to try different travel options. The three key challenges to travel with a disability are - transport, toilets and accommodation. We will provide you with Trusty Travel Tips and advice that will assist you on your next travel adventure.
Don't get hung up on how accessible a place is, focus on all the activities you can do!
Planning Your Adventure
When you are travelling with a disability or travelling with someone with a disability, the most important thing for a smooth vacation is correct planning. Don't go overboard and plan your holiday down to the last minute, but all your accommodation and transport should be booked before you leave home.
You should research the accessibility of your transport and accommodation options, and also for the activities you are planning. Ask questions about access to buildings, the number of steps, how wide are the doorways and lifts and is there easy access from the car park. And for your accommodation, off course ask whether there are disabled toilets and showers, and if there is enough space in your room for a wheelchair.
When contacting places, you need to be specific about your own limitations, so that different options can be put in place to cater for you. The best place to get information is from other travellers who have done it before. Otherwise you should try local tourist information centres.
Make sure you pack all essential and necessary medications, and bring with you any necessary prescriptions. Also make sure you pack extras of any medical or personal equipment that you might require.
Choosing The Right Transport
One of the biggest difficulties when travelling with a limitation is choosing the right transport and especially getting on and off public transport. Once you have planned your itinerary, you need to research your options between locations or cities. The best way to find accessible transport is to talk to "customer relations" or the person in charge of 'specific needs customers'. They will be able to provide exact information on the transport options.
Catching a plane can be a daunting experience! When you book your ticket, let the airline know your limitations and specific consideration should be provided. Be sure to check with your airline to make sure it has accessible toilets before booking a long haul flight.
Many people with a disability will forget figuring out the best transport all together, and will take a cruise holiday - either a river cruise or a large cruise liner. This way all of your luggage will stay in the one place, you don't need to find an accessible restaurant or toilet, and many of the activities are brought to you.
Other good options are:
Hiring a camper van that is wheelchair accessible
Take a train holiday in Western Europe - most trains are ideal with easy access and accessible toilets.
Finding An Accessible Toilet
Research is essential to finding accessible toilets. Many toilets say that they are accessible, when they are clearly are not. Don't find out the hard way! Asking at the tourist information centres for up to date information.
Places to look for an accessible toilet is at museums or art galleries, fast food restaurants or at modern train stations. Some travellers will plan what activities they do or attractions they see each day by where they can find an accessible toilet.
What is The Best Accommodation
It will be hard to find the perfect accommodation when you're travelling, except if you are willing to pay for it. Research is essential before you go to find a place that is accessible.
A good hotel will have accessible car parks that have easy access to the hotel. They will normally have a lift and even a porter service. Most will have a restaurant or food service on-site for easy access. Make sure you tell your accommodation when you are booking about your limitations, what equipment you might have and what assistance you may require.
A good idea is to stay in accommodation in a central location. It will be easier to visit local attractions and these attractions will be close-by. You might even be able to do day trips away from the city. This way you avoid the need to move all your luggage again.
Other Great Tips And Advice
If you are in a wheelchair and have someone to push you, take a manual chair. It will take up less space then an electric chair and it doesn't require recharging.
Allow your family or carers to have a holiday too. Let them do activities that they choose. This way they will want to travel with you again and it might give everyone some needed time apart.
Have your wheelchair cleaned and serviced before you leave. Make sure you have checked the batteries and all moving parts are in working order. Also research who you could contact if you have a major breakdown on the road.
If you have an electric wheelchair, take spare travel adapters so that you don't get caught out.
The most important tips and advice is for you and your family / carer to enjoy your holiday. Enjoy each day and its new adventures, new sights, new culture and the new things to be learnt.

Top Holiday Travel Tips
Are you ready to get started on the travel journey of a lifetime this holiday season but feel as though you are forgetting something important? Don't fret! All you need are a few holiday travel tips to make sure you stay on the right track. Whether you're going to spend time with your family, or are taking everyone on a fun getaway, it is important that you plan well. So to help you out I am providing some holiday travel tips that will make your vacation time with family and friends a breeze.
Find Out Peak Travel Dates
One of my top holiday travel tips is to find out when the peak travel dates are - then avoid them like a plague! Peak travel dates have two problems associated with them: 1) plane tickets, hotel rooms, car rentals, and more tend to be more expensive, and 2) everyone else will be traveling on those dates, hence the name peak travel dates. If possible, plan your vacation time at work a few days before the peak travel period so that you can avoid the rush. And also try to plan coming back a few days after - that way you can almost always guarantee reductions in prices, reductions in holiday traffic and reductions in headaches.
Do Your Comparison Shopping
It is important to stay abreast of holiday travel tips that help you find the best deals for your money. That starts with finding flight specials and continues with locating vacation destination deals. If you are going to visit family for the holidays and are not in need of a hotel room or transportation when you arrive then flight costs are all you will need to take into consideration. There are plenty of websites that give great holiday deals. Shop around with the major travel search engines such as Expedia and Travelocity, but also look at Cheaptickets.com and others for great rates. Also, you will be surprised to find that many airlines will have great deals if you search their website directly. And if you want the best comparison shopping experience, I recommend using SideStep.com. They use a side-by-side comparison of every flight special, sorted by price. I have found the greatest success using their services.
If you are traveling to a destination that does not include free room and board, then one of my holiday travel tips is for you to comparison shop for great all-inclusive package deals. You can find great places to stay during that holidays that have 3- and 5-night vacation packages with meals and activities included. Also, you will want to try to get a car factored into the price if you need one for your trip. The more specific you are when planning and the earlier you book, the better your results will be.
Plan Your Connecting Flights with Great Care
This is one of the holiday travel tips that will reduce your stress level significantly. I say this because I know the feeling of sitting in the airport waiting to board the first of two connections when you hear the airline attendant politely (and nervously) inform passengers that the flight has been delayed for an hour or more due to a snow storm in "Sock-It-To-Me," Kansas. When you hear the news, your thoughts quickly shift to your connecting flight that is probably scheduled to depart on time - 30 minutes after this flight is supposed to land. You know pre-boarding begins 30 minutes prior to take off to ensure the flight leaves on schedule. And that's when questions like "What will I do if my flight doesn't land before the other flight takes off?" and "Are there additional flights available?" begin to rush through your mind. And of course, the final thought will be, "Why didn't I schedule my connecting flight for a later time?"
This anxiety can be avoided by choosing connecting flights that allow for an hour and a half or more of layover time. I know that when you make the choice to find connecting flights as close as possible to the time your first flight is to land that you are simply trying to get where you're going quickly and want to avoid boredom in the airport. But usually one and a half to two hours isn't that long when you consider that it takes time to exit the plane, find the connecting flights departing gate, which could be in another terminal, then get settled before it is time to board the second plane. Besides, if you allow yourself the extra time, you are almost guaranteed the promise of making your connecting flights - a promise that is more than welcome during the busy holiday season.
Plan Your Packing In Accordance with Current Airport Security Measures
This is one of the holiday travel tips that actually sounds unfair - and trust me; I used to feel the same way too. But after enough hassles at the airport security station, I finally gave in and realized that I couldn't change what I couldn't control. So now, instead of fussing at the ways airports are trying to ensure our safety, I simply plan ahead by packing my belongings in accordance with their security measures.
One way to do this is by making sure to pack all of liquids and gels that are larger than 3 ml in the bags I plan to check. The airport has signs up everywhere that let you know that you cannot carry liquids and gels through the security checkpoint; these items include lotion, toothpaste, baby oil, aerosols (hairspray), perfume bottles, bottled water, and much more. If you carry them through the checkpoint they will find and confiscate them - you cannot stop this from happening. So to avoid the drama, why not simply pack them away and happily greet them at the baggage claim at your destination? You are allowed to carry liquids and gels 3 ml and smaller in a zip-top, clear bag, so you are not completely left out in the cold. And by sticking to the rules, you, your family, everyone in line behind you, and airport security will be much happier.
Remembering this helpful holiday travel tips will definitely help make vacationing during this holiday season a better experience. If you are in need of additional holiday travel tips, remember the last time you traveled and all of the challenges you faced, then apply them to the holiday season. By doing this you can assure yourself that you won't be faced with any unwelcome surprises.
Travel Tips for Credit Cards At Vacations - Your Friend In Need!
One of the most important travel tips is to carry ample cash while going on vacation. However, keeping large amount of cash with you is not safe. International Credit Card is an alternate to avoid hassles of keeping cash. Here are some important travel tips and travel money tips to use your credit card:
International travel tips for credit card usage
The first of the important travel tips for international travels is to find out from the credit card company if you can use your card in international locations. Also find out from the credit card company the charges that are applicable on your card. Confirm from them if the current PIN will work in other countries or you need an international PIN to use ATM machines at international locations and what are the conversion charges. It is also important to have their local help line numbers and the list of ATM locations close to the destinations you plan to visit.
Free Travel and Airfare Tips
Your credit card not only helps you pay for your vacations but also earns some fun-filled vacations for you. Some credit cards offers discount on international vacation if charges are made from their card and if you choose a hotel or airline from their list. Airlines Mileage Card offers bonus points every time you make a purchase. After making purchases from this card for 3-4 months, you can even get 1-2 free airlines tickets.
Business Travel Tips for Credit Card
Credit card security is very important while on international vacation. It does not take much time for a waiter to copy your credit card information and use it to go on an online shopping spree. Keep an eye on the waiter after you give your card. Ensure he does not take unusual time and does not get out of sight. Most hotels keep the credit card machines within the sight of the customers for assurance.
While traveling abroad, you have to follow travel tips of financial safety while using your credit cards. Do not give your credit card or credit card numbers to suspected people and outlets. Avoid seeking help related to credit card usage from strangers.
Cash safety travel tips during travel for seniors and women
Seniors and women are easy victims while on vacation. By following basic travel tips for cash and credit card safety, they can avoid financial loss and prevent potential threats. Keep the cash at least in two places. If you loose cash from one location, you still have cash to manage emergencies. Get a list of all ATM locations in the destination where you can draw cash. Do not wait to draw cash until you have spent the last penny. Do not take out large amounts of cash in public places. Do not disclose the amount tat you are carrying with you.
Toddler travel tips for Credit Cards
Do not give credit card to kids or minors. They can lose the card and land you in trouble situation. They can also spoil the magnetic impression of the card and render it useless. However, it is necessary to keep some cash in the pocket of the kids to handle emergencies.
International Travel Tips for Credit Card Losses
Keep the international number of the credit card company to promptly report loss of card. As soon as the card is lost, report it to company, find your balance to look for any frauds. This would be a great help for you to avoid financial loss related to fraudulent use of your credit card.
China Travel Tips
These China Travel Tips, Survival Techniques, will help you get around and make your trip to China easier, so you will be able to experience the real China with a little less stress.
China is an odd beast that needs to be respected; the major cities, Beijing, Shanghai, and Xian, all have their own personalities.
Some complex situations that you think would be an organizational disaster turn out to be great and you wonder afterward what all the fuss and worry was about. Then the simplest of tasks can turn out to be a major calamity.
This is when you have what we call here a "China day".
These days come and go and are part of the experience of everyday travel in China. One needs to have an open mind when travelling China. It is a place with thousands of years of history and culture that is trying overnight to adapt to Western ways of living.
You need to have a very open mind when you Travel in China.
I have listed below a few China Travel Tips that will make life that wee bit more bearable on your Travel China experience.
China Travel Tips - Be Toilet Wise
o Never expect a clean toilet 100% of the time.
o Be prepared; Carry some tissue.
o You may have to use a squat toilet, again if you know this before hand it is not a shock. If you don't know how to use a squat toilet, try the following experiment at home.
While holding onto something for support with both hands, lower your body down into a low squat position, so that the cheeks of your bottom is almost touching your heels or the back of your calf. Now, let go with your hands. See if you stay in this position for at least 1 minute. If you fall backwards or you cannot get up, then a squat toilet could be a problem for you! Practice, you will be happy you did.
o If you see a clean toilet, Go... it may not come again for a while.
o There are many public toilets around the cities, usually the ones you pay for are OK, (RMB .5), the others best to stay away from if you can. You will soon notice them as you walk around the cities.
o Be warned that public areas like bus and train stations are usually what I class as "tough toilets", however if gotta go you gotta go.
o Outside of the major cities, the toilet systems are old or have very narrow plumbing /pipes and get blocked easily. In these cases a small basket is usually beside the toilet, this is for your used toilet paper.
One of the best China Travel toilet Tips I can give you, is use hotel lobby toilets; these are everywhere and are always clean. Still they may not always have toilet paper. It depends on the class of hotel that you are using.
I do not wish to scare you. However, of all the China Travel Tips in all the other web sites I have read, this is a topic not often mentioned, but it is very important to us all.
So outside of the major cities conditions can be tough. But most of the time everything will be fine, especially if you book a tour; everything will have been checked out before hand. However even the best laid plans can go wrong, so be prepared, the toilets in the smaller cities, towns and villages can be scary.
China Travel Tips - The Food
o The food is great and the variety is overwhelming. Most of the time you get to choose what you eat, or you can recognize what you're eating, however sometimes you do not get a choice. Carry a chocolate bar or something; this will keep you going until some food that you can recognize turns up. Drink bottled or boiled water, as the tap water is NOT safe to drink, this is for the whole of China. Even boiled water, while sterilised can contain a lot of minerals and iron deposits that you probably do not want in your system. The safest bet is to drink bottle water. Tap water in most big cities is OK for brushing teeth.
o Eating habits - Most Chinese people have a great habit of being very noisy when they eat and lunch and dinner times can be a wonderfully noisy celebration, food tends to go in all directions, its just part of being in China.
o People also smoke at the table while everyone is eating, so some restaurants get very loud and smoky.
o If you get stuck what to order as most of the menu's are in Chinese just look at the table next to you and point to the dish you fancy and ask how much it is, this system works really well and know seems to mind.
o I have a basic menu that will help you order safe food, (no Cats or Dog) this will enable you to visit a larger selection of restaurants, not just the tourist ones with high prices. You can carry it with you and use it in the local restaurants where most will be able to serve what is on it. This way you will know what you are eating.
These local places are very cheap and the food it great. Contact me if you would like me to send it to you.
China Travel Tips - Taxis
o China Travel Tips- Taxis - Taxis are an experience that can have you griping the seat and gasping for breath; however you soon get used to it, after the first few rides, you're an old hand.
o The taxis in Shanghai are, overall, quite good. Try to get the Blue, Blue'ish Turquoise, Gold and White taxis, these are the best... these are the four major taxi companies and are generally recognised by their single colour paintwork. The others are OK, just older and a rougher ride (the others also may have faulty metres). No drivers will speak English.
o Carry your hotel or accommodation business card with you, written in Chinese, this helps if you get lost walking around town.
o In all the taxis around the country you will see the drivers name and taxi registration number in plain sight. If you have any problem, or if you think you have been over charged etc, just take this number down, make a big fuss about it, and the driver then should wake up and fix whatever problem you have. Even better is to take the receipt. This has all the trip details on it and you can ring the taxi company if you want to take things further or if you've left something in the taxi.
o The government takes rip-off drivers in all cities, Beijing and Xian especially, very seriously and if you complain they will lose their license. This is their livelihood. So far I have had not one driver in 3 years that has not backed down and we have then agreed a price for the trip or solved our problem.
o In Shanghai, it is common practice for taxi fare increases after 11pm. However, one can usually bargain for a 20% discount, which will get the fare back to the pre-11pm rate.
Be strong with the taxi drivers, never-the-less, keep your cool, smile and negotiate.
China Travel Tips - Shopping
o China Travel Tips - Shopping - China is a shopper's paradise, Markets, Bargains; Top labels... anything and everything if you have the time. With clothes, the larger (Western) sizes can be quite hard to find, however in the major cities where you get a lot of tourist traffic, you can find them.
o Electrical gear, DVD's, Cameras, stuff like this is not worth buying in China, Hong Kong is still the best place for this.
o Store hours in the major cities are from 10am to 10pm, 7 days a week.
o Visa card is still the best card to carry, with ATM's in good supply all with PLUS access etc.
There is usually a surcharge for use of VISA, MasterCard or other forms of credit card.
o Wait on purchasing if you can, look around to get a feel for the prices. The Chinese are VERY experienced at selling and know that we halve the opening price when bargaining.
In the markets go for 25% of what they first ask; go so low that they let you walk away. This will give you an idea of the bottom price. The resulting end-price will probably be around 40% to 50% of where they started.
Whatever the market people say, they are used to pushing and haggling for best prices. Do not worry about being too hard, they are used to it and will not sell you an item unless they make a profit. Don't be concerned with the apparently hurt body language when you go low - it is all part of the game. As soon as they have wrapped up your first purchase, they will try to sell you something more. Remember to keep smiling and having fun while bargaining.
China Travel Tips - Medical Treatment and Records
o Most hotels will have a doctor that you can see. In the major hotels English will be spoken.
o Always take a small first aid kit, cold remedy, headache tablets at the very least. WATSONS is a very large chain chemist. Most of the remedies, tablets etc, that you may require should be in these shops. These shops are all over China.
o There is a great network of pharmacy type shops; these are indicated by a Green Cross. There will always be a 24 hr Green Cross pharmacy in the city you are in. It is handy to carry a Phase book, as no one will speak English, however you will end up with something that will help.
o INPORTANT POINT - for most of the mass produced packet type medicines, the packaging will be written in Chinese on one side, English on the other. However in the shops you only see the Chinese side. Have a good look, turn the packs over, it gives you a lot more confidence knowing you can read the package.
o If you have a specific medical issue, take records, most of the Doctors will have OK written / reading English, even though their oral English will be poor.
China Travel Tips - Telephone
o Using the phone is as easy as at home. However the person picking it up will not speak English or have very broken English... the Major 4- or 5-Star Hotels will all be OK.
o What is worth doing is buying a Chinese Telecom SIM card, they are about RMB100 and with this you get RMB50 in calls, the other 50 is for the price of the SIM card; this SIM card will go into all major brand phones and work OK.
By doing this, people can reach you within and out of China if there is an emergency. If you have a couple of phones, you can short (txt) message each other (SMS). Also you are able to call your tourist guide, hotel etc if you have any major problems. It is a cheap way to keep in touch.
NB.Before you buy a Chinese SIM card, check that it will work in your Cell / Mobile phone. There are plenty of China Telecom shops that can help.
China Travel Tips on when NOT to move around China.
o Spring Festival, this would be the Chinese New Year time, around the end of January / Early February
o Early May; Labour day Holidays
o Early October; National Day Holidays
Of all the China Travel Tips National Day is the biggest one. Millions of Chinese travel at these holiday times of the year. Most are travelling back to home towns or visiting family. Hotels, trains, planes, cars, buses, and roads are all crowded to the maximum. Major congestion, everywhere.
Also travel fares are at their full price. No discounts are offered!
Stay in one place and enjoy where you are. It's best and causes fewer hassles.
China Travel Tips - TV
o If you want to watch TV, most of the major hotels will have cable and if you are in the smaller places, the national channel, CCTV9 is in English. Over the last couple of years it has got a lot better, with some great China Travel Tips programs, news and views on people and places around China.
China Travel Tips - Airport Tax
o There is a "construction fee" at almost all airports.
Domestic flights RMB 50
International flights RMB 90 - which is to be paid in local currency.
Just recently, tickets are being tissued with the Construction Tax included; however make sure you have the Tax money with you just to make sure.
I hope some of these China Travel Tips will come in handy and will make your trip to China that little bit easier.
If you have been to China and wish to share your China Travel Tips, please feel free to contact me anytime.

Travel Tips
Vacations are meant to inspire relaxation and peacefulness. While you and your family may be excited to hop on the plane and travel to a tropical destination for your next summer vacation, read up on these few travel tips that will help to ensure you have a fun vacation, not a stressful one.
Tip 1- Always book flights and reservations under your legal name. This is especially important if you have just gotten married but have yet to change over your passport and ID. You may receive a hard time from TSA if the name on your ticket doesn't match the name on your ID and passport. So remember, no nicknames or post-married names if that's not what's on your ID.
Tip 2- Shop around for the best discount and deals. Most of the major travel websites will offer discounts for combining hotels, flights, rental cars, and more. Also, check around for discount codes and coupons, and if you are a member of an agency that has travel reservations, make sure to take advantage of their travel deals. Don't forget to check with brick-and-mortar travel agencies since they may have tickets available that are priced much lower than major travel sites.
Tip 3- Watch what you pack. With baggage fees and weight limit charges, you will want to be aware of what you are packing so you can avoid getting hit with more-than-a-couple-dollar-charge when it comes to your luggage. Only take necessities and consider bringing as much as you can on your carry-on bag. It will help to weigh your luggage at home before you head to the airport so you know what you are getting yourself into and can plan appropriately if you know you can't get under the weight limit. If your luggage is too large to simply place on the scale, jump on first and weigh yourself. Grab your bag then hop on the scale a second time and see what the new weight is. Take this weight and subtract your weight alone and that's how heavy your bag is.
Tip 4- Don't carry cash. Instead, opt for prepaid credit cards. Travelling with cash is dangerous and can lead to theft or the loss of money. Sign up for a prepaid credit card and get all of the conveniences of playing with "plastic" without the worry of amassing debt or ruining your credit by choosing to buy that mink fur coat you saw on that Alaskan cruise. You'll only be able to purchase as much as you preload the card with, plus many companies offer theft and fraud protection which is much safer than carrying cash.
If you want to know more about prepaid credit cards, check out the American Express prepaid credit card which makes a great option for travel payments.

General Travel Tips
Whether it be a road trip, lazy days spent at the beach, tours of historical places, or a romantic getaway, vacations provide an escape and a chance to explore something new and different. The types of trips can vary widely depending on interests and budget. Family vacations often include camping, some time at the lake, or boogie boarding on the waves. Alternatively, the more adventurous may choose to take some time vacationing in a remote cabin in Alaska, or climbing the red rocks of Arizona. The definition of "fun" may vary quiet a bit when it comes to traveling and enjoying time away, but there are some things that most everyone needs to think about when going on vacation.
Tips for Plane Travel
The price of ticket on public transportation also varies depending on the time of year, and comes with extra taxes and luggage charges. According to airline guidelines in 2010 each ticket includes the right to two checked pieces of luggage, and each piece should weigh no more than 50 pounds or else be subject to a fee of $50 per bag, however, in 2012, travelers will often find a fee for any checked luggage. Once again, if there is going to be a lot of baggage, driving may help save some money. For the flight, which can often be fairly uncomfortable, consider bringing a small pillow instead of relying on the ones the airline provides.
Packing
Mesh or plastic bags can be immensely helpful when packing clothes. Separate clothes by category into different bags (i.e. undergarments, pants, shirts, swimsuits) to make finding what you need easier. This will also prove useful when baggage is checked by security at airports, because the inspectors will usually not need to open the bags to see what you have. Whether using bags or not, consider rolling clothes up, rather than folding. This can make it easier to fit more items in a smaller space.
Small bottles can be used to carry toiletries like shampoo, and are refillable. These should be carried in a plastic bag as well according to airport regulations, as well as for organization and to avoid a spill that gets onto everything else.
It is important to pack copies of documents like passports or identification, in case the originals get lost. In addition to packing psychical copies it is also a good idea to e-mail the information along with emergency numbers to a personal e-mail.
As far as money is concerned, keep cash, checks, and credit cards separated to a certain extent so that if some is stolen or lost, there is still some left over.
Lastly, take a piece of traveler's advice and pack half the amount of clothes you think you need. You can wash them if need be, but if you pack everything you think you need you will more than likely end up with way too much.
Safety
Depending on where the intended destination is there may be warnings directed towards certain nationalities or groups. Researching the area around the hotel or city in general is also a good idea. There are certain details that are good to know before arriving in certain places ( i.e. In third-world countries like Mexico do not get into a taxi before agreeing on a price and do not pay the driver until the destination has been reached and you are out of the cab). Also, when traveling to a relatively undeveloped country there are certain vaccines that are advised before travel. Little details like this can be found in many guidebooks or the city website. When expecting to take advantage of the local highlights it is incredibly helpful to do some research before arriving.

Travel Tips for Contented Children
Top Travel Tips
1) Don't think having a small baby means traveling will be a nightmare
When your baby is very young (before they start to crawl) they are at their most portable, their needs are reasonably predictable and they sleep a lot. Perfect for long journeys so long as you plan as much of your journey time as possible around nap times, with regular breaks included around feeding times.
2) Military Packing planning
Whilst this might sound obvious, planning and creating a master packing list for your children avoids last minute panic-packing - a strategy that always leaves you feeling you're carting around a whole load of extra STUFF with at least one crucial item ending up home alone!
3) Supplies
For older babies & children take a good supply of drinks and snacks with you to avoid your child getting hungry if there's an unplanned delay (or for distraction if necessary!) Stick to non-sticky non-crumbly foods if you can and snacks like mini packs of dried fruit are great for keeping little fingers busy for longer too. My son used to spend an inordinately long time taking raisins out one by one, choosing one to eat, returning the others, and then starting again...
4) A bag for each child
As soon as your child is old enough to enjoy toys and books, their own backpack or TrayKit can be a life-saver. If they are young, pack it for them with a mixture of familiar toys, paper, crayons but include some new things to make traveling exciting if you're on a long trip. If your child is a little older (3+), encourage them to pack their own bag. They love to do this but I recommend a certain amount of adult supervision having checked my son's bag and found it contained carefully packed train track but no trains. Older children also love audio books and will often be happily occupied on long journeys listening to favourite stories or songs.
5) Plan ahead for your destination
Once you've arrived, ensuring that they have an environment as familiar as possible can keep a young baby rested and happy. Think about how your baby's going to get their sleep in the day and during the night.. I didn't think about this enough our first trip away with Andrea Anna when she was a few months old and sleeping through the night. Unable to block out the light in our room, her daytime sleep pattern was soon in tatters she was grouchy and exhausted and so were we. Plus stumbling around in the dark trying not to wake her when we were sharing a room wasn't great either. I ended up designing the Cot Canopy and the rest is history... !
6) Don't try to be too ambitious
Remember what your baby will need to be happy and settled and chances are you'll have a wonderful holiday - Enjoy!

The Best Travel Tips For Your Dream Vacation
It is not rare to hear about vacations that have gone horribly wrong. However, the bottom line is, the nightmare would probably not have happened with good planning. If you want to avoid the problems that come along with poor vacation planning, read on for some great advice. Be aware of your passport's expiration date. Some countries have very specific rules regarding passports, including when they expire. Depending on the expiration date of your passport, a country may not let you visit. These times can be three or six months, or even eight months to a year. Some travel websites off e-tracking options that you can use. This will provide you with the most current and cheapest methods of travel. You will be sent email alerts if a flight you have shown interest in lowers it price and can now be purchased at a lower rate. If you have already booked a flight, you will also receive an email alert if the price of the ticket has dropped.
TIP! If you're going on a cruise, pack a tackle box and keep your valuables in it. Cruises often have a lot of thieves aboard them and you don't want to risk losing something important to you.
Use a list to help you pack your essentials. Put together a list of things you must take with you. You can start doing this a couple of months out, but should be finished about a week before your trip. This can especially help you if you are in a rush to pack, as it will prevent you forgetting things or including unnecessary items. You do not always have to travel far to experience a great day trip or weekend getaway. There are probably places you haven't enjoyed in your home state or the neighboring ones. Staying local allows you to save money while benefiting your own local economy. The perfect getaway could be right around the corner. If you bring them, you will be able to connect your laptop to the TV in your room. You can take advantage of various streaming movies rather than pay for expensive rentals directly from the hotel.
TIP! Going on a cruise can be an appealing way to travel for those who want to visit many different locations. They can do so without having to drive themselves or have the hassle of different planes and/or trains.
Sleeping pills can get you through a red-eye flight. This can help you to sleep in a situation that many are uncomfortable in, on board an airplane. If you have trouble sleeping while flying, feel free to have a sleeping pill shortly before your flight in order to help you relax and possibly get a nap in during the trip. Don't take the medication before you go in case there are delays or problems with the plane. Always plan ahead when traveling by air. Just reaching the airport can be difficult to do quickly, especially if you are traveling through a major city during rush hour. Have your bags packed well in advance. You need to make all of your travel plans far before you plan to fly. Not making your flight will cost you time and money. Make sure your dog is easily accustomed to new places if you plan on traveling together. Your dog needs to reliably respond to leash and voice commands, and you should always keep it leashed during travel and in public places. When traveling, you can assure the safety of your pet by being in control of his activities at all times.
TIP! If you are packing for a cruise, don't buy anything new for the trip. This is because most cruises today will allow you to remain in casual clothes even for dinner, and almost never require that you dress in black-tie formalwear.
Pack light, and be sure to plan your trip when you travel. A light, smart packing job will make any trip easier and more enjoyable. A desert contains lots of interesting places to look at as well as animals most people never get to see in their lives. A visit to the desert is a breathtaking event, particularly for those who have never made one before, and is something that should not be missed. Be wise about food allergies when visiting a foreign country to avoid dangerous liaisons. Learn enough about the foreign language to understand if something may be dangerous for you. This way, you can easily explain your allergies to waitstaff or chefs in restaurants or--should something happen--medical professionals.
TIP! If you are planning a long cruise, consider selecting a cruise line that offers self-service laundry. This will reduce the amount of laundry you need to bring along when you pack, and is also significantly cheaper than asking the ship's crew to do your laundry for you.
If you want the cheapest exchange rates, wait to exchange your currency until you arrive at the destination. If you know there won't be a place to easily exchange currency once you land in your destination country, exchange a limited amount before you leave and then look for a better exchange rate once you arrive in-country. The reason for some of the worst stories about traveling happen because the traveler didn't think ahead and plan correctly.
